For a change this month eight of us set off for a day walk, firstly catching the 0854 train from New Milton to Bournemouth where we boarded the 0935 Breezer 50 bus to Swanage. Enjoying lovely views around Bournemouth to Studland bay then on the chain ferry across the water onto National Trust land observering beautiful scenery all the way to Swanage. First stop hot chocolate in the Chococo shop and some of us sampled cheese and marmite scones, wonderful. Then we set off through the town pass the pier towards the footpath to Perveril Point and back to have Fish and Chips, well some did and some just had an icecream! Then back on the Breezer no 50 to Bournemouth to catch the train back to New Milton a successful day with good company.

The weather forecast was not looking good but all went well! We left Woodside Car Park at 10:30 exiting the park entrance at Poles Lane then off towards Eight Acre Pond, where we spotted some little ones swimming with Mum and Dad! We then carried on along the sea wall, spotting various birds in between all the chat! A heron standing tall and pride on one leg and lots of egrets.

We decided not to venture down the steps on to the foot path across Oxey Marsh but continue round the sea wall to go down the path to pass Oxey Barn. Then along the road pass the Chequers Pub eventually arriving back at Woodside car park. Of course we then crossed the grass to stop at Woodside Sports Cafe (well worth a visit), for cake and coffee and chatted for half an hour, about everything and nothing! Another enjoyable Hordle WI mornings walk with lots of chat and of course refreshments at the end!

We parked at St John The Baptist, Boldre, car park and set off towards Roydon Woods and came across highland cattle enjoying the grass. We then turned off left through the gate of the permissive path, hoping to see deer but to no avail. Reached the ford as we passed Roydon Manor and continued our journey.
