For a change this month eight of us set off for a day walk, firstly catching the 0854 train from New Milton to Bournemouth where we boarded the 0935 Breezer 50 bus to Swanage. Enjoying lovely views around Bournemouth to Studland bay then on the chain ferry across the water onto National Trust land observering beautiful scenery all the way to Swanage. First stop hot chocolate in the Chococo shop and some of us sampled cheese and marmite scones, wonderful. Then we set off through the town pass the pier towards the footpath to Perveril Point and back to have Fish and Chips, well some did and some just had an icecream! Then back on the Breezer no 50 to Bournemouth to catch the train back to New Milton a successful day with good company.

This month eight of us walked around Roydon Woods forecast promised it would be dry and sunny...

but we did have a sudden downpour which meant sheltering for a moment under the trees, then it brighten up and we squelched back to our cars in the sun and drove off to Mabels at Shallowmead where we enjoyed toasted tea cake and hot chocolate.
We were all caught out and sheltered under the trees!

Today seven of us met at Holmesley Passage Car park for our morning walk to Holmesley Tea room along the disused railway line on a beauitful sunny morning.

At the tea room we all had a tasty toasted tea cake, coffee, hot chocolate and of course lots of chat.
On the way back we turned off the railway track and dropped down to walk by the stream where dogs were also enjoying their morning walk. Then continued through the woods back to the car park, once again a great opportunity for fresh air, chat and a leisurely walk....

We included an additional walk this month for members wishing to enjoy a longer stroll! We arrived at Exbury Gardens at 1045 parked the car and turned right out of the parking area and walked along the road, past Exbury church on the left and then on past the entrance to Exbury house continuing along Inchmery Lane to a footpath on the left hand side of the road across a field into the woodland till we reached the signpost Lepe Loop. Following the signs until we reached Lepe Country park had a delightful lunch break before setting off again, the tide was not too high so we then had a stroll along the beach with a lot of ooh and aahing. Eventually returned back to Exbury Gardens at 1545 in time for an icecream having walked nearly five miles.

This Oak tree had such long creeping branches touching the ground what a sight to see....

For this months walk we ventured to Milford on Sea, walked through the Pleasure Grounds to Hordle Gap then along the sea wall back to The Needles cafe where we enjoyed beverages and various delightful cakes, wonderful walk!

A lovely walk in the shade of the trees

We wondered what was this growing on this tree?

Todays walk was at Rhinefield Ornamental drive and through Blackwater Arboretum. What magnificent tall and wide trees! We ended back at the car park for cake and drinks from the waggon parked in the car park. How wonderful were the cakes, can thoroughly recomment them!

Gina took these marvelous photos shown below.

Our walk started from Otters car park but then we encountered a burst water main which meant treading carefully all the way to the footpath taking us up through the woods at Great Newbridge copse - and what a sight to see the Bluebells looked splendid under the trees. The photo doesnt do justice to how blue they looked. We then return back paddling through the wet path to have tea at Otters but the water problem had caused the cafe to close, no water! so we headed on to Everton garden centre instead and enjoyed a chat, coffee and cake.

A lovely walk led by Gina on a beautiful sunny day starting at Long Slade Bottom car park wonderful and of course we ended up for a cake, coffee and hot chocolate at The Daisy Tea garden at Setley ridge garden centre wonderful.

We enjoyed a lovely walk in the sun, parked in the layby on Latchmoor off the A337 by the Filly Inn and walked towards Setly Pond where we saw men playing with their boats. It made such a change walking in the warm sun after the previous wet days. Arriving back at our cars we then walked to Setley Ridge Vineyard to enjoy tea and cake at the Daisy Tea garden and again enjoyed sitting outside in the sun having a long chat putting the world to right.....

The weather forecast was not looking good but all went well! We left Woodside Car Park at 10:30 exiting the park entrance at Poles Lane then off towards Eight Acre Pond, where we spotted some little ones swimming with Mum and Dad! We then carried on along the sea wall, spotting various birds in between all the chat! A heron standing tall and pride on one leg and lots of egrets.

We decided not to venture down the steps on to the foot path across Oxey Marsh but continue round the sea wall to go down the path to pass Oxey Barn. Then along the road pass the Chequers Pub eventually arriving back at Woodside car park. Of course we then crossed the grass to stop at Woodside Sports Cafe (well worth a visit), for cake and coffee and chatted for half an hour, about everything and nothing! Another enjoyable Hordle WI mornings walk with lots of chat and of course refreshments at the end!
